Angul Additional Tehsildar and Peon Arrested in Bribery Case by Vigilance

The vigilance team has arrested Additional Tehsildar Shri Nayak and his office peon Kanha Sahu. The vigilance team has arrested both of them red-handed and inspected the additional tehsildar's ancestral house and Peon Kanha's ancestral house at 3 places. According to information, Om Prakash Agarwal of Angul area has 3 land mutation cases in Chhendipada tehsil. For this, his lawyer Prakash Chandra Nayak Kanha Sahu repeatedly approached Additional Tehsildar Prakash Chandra Nayak. The Additional Tehsildar demanded a bribe of Rs 9,000 for this, at the rate of Rs 3,000 per case. In this case, Om Prakash was at the doorstep of the vigilance. The vigilance team of Cuttack had laid a trap to catch him. On Wednesday afternoon, Om Prakash's lawyer went to give the bribe to the Additional Tehsildar. But he asked Pion Kanha to accept the money. While he was accepting the money, the vigilance team, which was waiting, caught him. The vigilance team has arrested both the Additional Tehsildar and the Pion after seizing the bribe of Rs 9,000. Along with this, the office room of the Additional Tehsildar, his rented house in Talcher and his ancestral house in Athamallik Naagaon Khambeshwarpali are being searched, while the house of Pion Kanha in Podapada has been inspected. Additional Tehsildar Shri Nayak's house is in Athamallik Block Khambeshwarpali, while a two-storey building is under construction in Nuagarh village. The vigilance team had been camping in front of Athamallik Block since noon. In the afternoon, the vigilance team visited Khambeshwarpali. They inspected the under-construction building and estimated its value. During the inspection, it was revealed from the vigilance sources that Rs. 2,90,500 was found from Shri Nayak's house.
