Armed Forces Tribunal Circuit Bench to Open in Cuttack, Fulfilling Ex-Soldiers' Demand
Historic victory for Odisha ex-soldiers: Arms Forces Tribunal Circuit Bench to function in Cuttack Cuttack, 31/12 (Bureau): The long-standing demand of the soldiers who served and retired from Odisha in the Indian Army and their families has been fulfilled. The Indian Ex-Services League has heard the Ruju case on behalf of Odisha and given permission to establish a circuit bench of the Arms Forces Tribunal in Cuttack. As a result, 2026 has brought great happiness to these ex-soldiers. This circuit bench will function in the ARDCC office premises from January 7. Since there is no Arms Forces Tribunal in Odisha from January 7, the ex-servicemen who served in the Army from Odisha had to go to Kolkata or Delhi for various cases. As a result, the ex-servicemen or their families had to endure both physical, mental and financial torture. In this regard, the Indian Ex-Services League approached the Supreme Court. Taking cognizance of the problems of the petitioners, the Supreme Court has ordered the establishment of a circuit bench of the Armed Forces Tribunal in Cuttack. A bench comprising Justice Nandita Dubey, Judicial Member of the New Delhi Chief Bench, and Justice Shekhar Mishra, Administrative Member of the Kolkata Bench, will hear various cases in the circuit bench. The bench will function for the first three days on January 7, 8 and 9. The dates will be fixed in the following months depending on the number of cases.
