Deepa Builds New Family for Helpless in Cuttack Rehabilitation Center

Deepa is showing the helpless the way to survive. She has been building a new family for 3 years in the company of strangers. Cuttack, 31/12 (Bureau): For some, she is a younger sister, for others, she is a daughter. And for others, she is a granddaughter. Why is she tied to so many relationships? It is not just a name that is the connection. She lives with them and also takes care of them. Sometimes she feeds someone with her hand, and sometimes she pours water on someone's forehead. In an age where people do not recognize themselves or are unable to do their own work, she is showing the way to survive by supporting the mentally disabled and helpless elderly people like her family. Deepa has become a face and a lover of strangers. She lives with the helpless people in the rehabilitation center and takes care of them day and night. She has built her own new family with the helpless people. Deepanjali Parshti (22), a resident of Anandalaya in Bentkar, Cuttack, lives in Jajpur district. Her family said that she, her mother and two younger sisters were there. Her father passed away in Kochi while she was studying. The burden of the family was on her shoulders from a very young age. She has two younger sisters. One is studying in class 3 and the other is in class 9. Deepa had left home to earn money for their education and running the house. Here, she started working for a low salary in Anandalaya in Bentkar with the help of the Odisha Pujat Jitsa Samiti (OPS). She gradually immersed herself in the service of the helpless. Little did she know that the girl, who had lost her father, would find a new family within three years. Because SCB Medical along with mentally challenged people from the city are being rehabilitated in this hospital. Although the government bears the expenses, Deepa is the real family member of those helpless people. Because she stays with more than 30 helpless people day and night and takes care of them. She does the duties of a family member. Starting from feeding them to shaving their heads, she does everything with great love. Deepa teaches people to live by putting a smile on their faces where a stranger who visits her door to door gives up hope of survival. As a result, she has become a very special person for many elderly and old people. Deepa has to say about this, I have been living here for 3 years. After my father's departure, I have never felt his absence. Because I have found many fathers and mothers here. They have become my big family. I go home once in two or three months and come back for a walk. As soon as I leave here, some of them stop eating and drinking. So I have decided to stay here with them for as long as I can.
