212 government employees arrested in the year Bhubaneswar, 31/12 (Bureau): > The state Vigilance Department has been recording IAS officers on record. Breaking the record of 2024, Vigilance has sent them to jail in 2025. This year, Vigilance has arrested 16 police officers and sent 212 corrupt government officials and employees to jail. Out of them, 53 are Class One officers. Only those who are working in government jobs have been shown the dark rooms of the Vigilance Jail. In 2024, Vigilance registered 200 criminal cases and arrested 181 government employees, while in 2025, it registered 202 criminal cases and arrested 212 government employees. Among them, 53 Class I officers, one Chief Engineer, two Superintending Engineers, 17 Foresters, two DFOs, six Tehsildars, one Joint Commissioner, five doctors, 22 PR-DW officers and 16 police officers were arrested. Vigilance has registered 11 fewer cases of income leakage worth Rs 8.81 crore compared to the previous year. In 2024, 60 cases were registered. In 2025, Vigilance registered 49 cases of income leakage worth Rs 120 crore. In these cases, immovable property worth Rs 120 crore was seized. Vigilance raided the house of Chief Engineer Vaikuntha Nath Sarangi on charges of disproportionate assets. Rs 2.56 crore was recovered from his house. Malkangiri Jalchhaya Deputy Director Shantanu Mahapatra's house was raided and Rs 2.8 crore cash was recovered. Jaipur Deputy Ranger Ramachandra Nayak's house was raided and Rs 1.43 crore was recovered. Inside
