UAE Announces Withdrawal of Troops from Yemen, Ends Counter-Terrorism Campaign

UAE withdraws troops from Yemen Abu Dhabi, 31/12 (Agency): The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has decided to withdraw its troops from Yemen. The UAE has said that it will end its counter-terrorism campaign in Yemen. The UAE attacked the port of Mukalla in Yemen on charges that the UAE was supporting the separatist group SC in Yemen. The UAE made this decision within 24 hours of this attack. In addition, the Yemeni government had also asked the UAE to withdraw its troops within 24 hours. Saudi Arabia supported this demand of Yemen. SC was initially fighting against the Houthi rebels along with the Yemeni government. But later, the SC opened a front against the Saudi-backed government army.
