Union Cabinet Approves Rs 20,668 Crore Highway Projects, Odisha's NH-326 Widening Included

20,668 crore highway project approved to widen NH-326 from Mohana to Koraput New Delhi, 31/12 (Agency): Road connectivity in the country will be strengthened. Transport and communication will improve. In this regard, the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today approved a highway project worth Rs. 20,668 crore. This includes the 6-lane greenfield Nashik-Solapur (Aktalkot) corridor in Maharashtra. Along with this, Odisha will spend Rs 1526 crore, travel time will be reduced by 3 hours. CM thanks Modi, Gadkari. Big gift to Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput districts. Gopalpur port will make goods transportation easier. Greenfilm Nashik-Solapur corridor with 6 lanes gets approval. Major projects get approval. This includes widening and strengthening of NH-326 from Mohana to Koraput. The old two-lane highway will be developed into a wide two-lane highway under the widening of National Highway-326. 206.2 km of roads will be developed. The construction period is 2 years. It will cost Rs 1,526 crore. It will be developed on EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) model. It will pass through Gajapati, Rayagada and Koraput districts. According to the Cabinet meeting, the development of NH-326 will provide direct connectivity to major national corridors like NH-26, NH-59, NH-16 and Raipur-Visakhapatnam corridor. This will provide connectivity between eastern and southern India.
